Congratulations to Miss UTOPIA Seattle 2012-13, Marion Malena.

On October 13, Marion was crowned the new Miss UTOPIA (United Territories of Pacific Islanders Alliance) at the organizations third annual pageant in Renton at the IKEA Performing Arts Center. Marion was joined by some of the most talented drag queens, queens, and Transgendered women, along with last years Miss UTOPIA Seattle, Tanya Rachinee, for Love is a Battlefield, this year's theme, which recognizes the struggle for marriage equality in Washington state and across the U.S., and the landmark repeal of Dont Ask, Dont Tell. (

Contestants wowed the audience in categories such as National Couture (representing any of the hundreds of Pacific Island cultures in this category, these ladies will give you true Mana of the Pacific magic), Swimwear, Talent, Evening Gown Extravaganza, and Question & Answer. The Miss UTOPIA Seattle 2012-13 Pageant was hosted by Miss Tiare Fidow and Chase Silva. Congratulations to Marion Malena from all of us at Seattle Gay News.
