Here we go again: another month of outstanding live concerts in Seattle, to distract us from the dramatic change of weather. These are just eight of the many anticipated shows happening in November - I didn't even have room for Leonard Cohen, Minus the Bear, Benny Benassi, Jim Brickman, or Steve Winwood.

The Manhattan Transfer

November 1-4
Celebrating 40 amazing years in the biz, vocalese pioneers and multiple Grammy winners The Manhattan Transfer arrive at Jazz Alley for a four-night stay in early November. You're going to hear the hits, including 'The Boy from New York City,' 'Operator,' 'Trickle Trickle,' and hopefully stuff from their awesome 1987 release, Brasil. Morrissey
Moore Theatre
November 8
One of rock's most controversial and unpredictable artists lands in Seattle next month, though we're on pins and needles as to whether the show will go on - for now, it's on (his mother has taken ill). Morrissey, a successful solo performer and lead singer of legendary band The Smiths, has a very devoted fan base despite his radical behavior and ongoing bitter feuds. Red Hot Chili Peppers

2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Red Hot Chili Peppers are undeniably one of the best American rock bands ever. 'Give It Away,' 'Higher Ground,' 'By the Way,' 'Dosed,' 'Under the Bridge,' Can't Stop,' 'Scar Tissue,' 'Californication' - the list of great singles from these guys is endless. RHCP is on the road boosting 2011's album I'm With You, which has yet to match the artistic and commercial success of its predecessors, particularly 1991's stellar Blood Sugar Sex Magik, which has sold more than 15 million copies worldwide. The Death Cab for Cutie frontman recently performed a benefit concert for the marriage equality campaign, and we can't thank him enough for the good deed. Elsewhere, Gibbard plays back-to-back sold out concerts at separate venues in mid-November.

Brandi Carlile
Benaroya Hall
November 23-25
Maple Valley-bred musician Brandi Carlile has been touring non-stop in 2012 since the release of her fourth studio album, Bear Creek. She's booked well into the New Year, too, with concerts taking place on both U.S. coasts, aside from a weeklong residency aboard a cruise ship. Carlile will be joined by the Seattle Symphony when she appears at Benaroya Hall for three shows on Thanksgiving weekend. Visit www.seattlesymphony.org for ticket information.

Boz Scaggs
Snoqualmie Casino
November 25
Singer-songwriter Boz Scaggs has pushed his appearance at Snoqualmie Casino, originally scheduled for November 15, back 10 days to November 25. The pop/light jazz artist is expected to roll out his catalog biggies, from 'Jojo' to 'Miss Sun' to 'Look What You've Done to Me.' Visit www.snocasino.com for ticket information. Okay, let's address the elephant in the room: Billie Joe Armstrong checked into rehab immediately following that tantrum he threw in Las Vegas. But he did the right thing and sought help before it got worse. (Hang in there, we love you, Billie!) The Grammy-winning trio chose Seattle to launch its upcoming North American tour in support of its trilogy album project, Uno!, Dos!, and Tre! Glen Campbell
Paramount Theatre
November 27
Said to be doing his farewell tour, country crooner Glen Campbell is a must-see when he saddles up to the Paramount in late November. Besides his signature tune, 'Rhinestone Cowboy,' he's expected to perform 'Southern Nights,' 'Gentle on My Mind,' 'By the Time I Get to Phoenix,' and 'Ghost on the Canvas.'
