Janelle Monáe announces Seattle show

by Albert Rodriguez - SGN A&E Writer

Just mentioning the name Janelle Monáe makes you cooler. The multiple Grammy nominee is headed straight to Seattle this fall, settling into The Showbox SoDo on October 30. I can't recall if this is the Kansas City native's first headlining appearance in the Emerald City since double-billing with Bruno Mars at the WaMu Theater a few years ago, but that's not really important. What's vital to note is that tickets are on sale now at www.axs.com, and this concert will sell out, no doubt.

Monáe has a brand new single out, a duet with Miguel entitled 'Prime Time,' though fans are still loving this year's other collaboration with fellow R&B maverick Erykah Badu, 'Q.U.E.E.N.,' and of course, her guest vocals on fun.'s mega-hit 'We Are Young.' She claimed one of 2010's critically lauded albums - her ambitious debut, The ArchAndroid - and hasn't disappointed since. Her neatly styled hair and trademark suit jackets help her stand out from the pack, as if her musical talent didn't already do so. This is going to be an amazing concert, for reals!
