GAY CITY ARTS - 'TO TAKE THIS RISK' THRU SEPTEMBER 9
From August 8 through September 9, Gay City Arts (517 E. Pike St.) presents 'To Take This Risk,' an exhibition of work by Grant Rehnberg.

Grant Rehnberg, a self-taught collage and mixed-media artist, draws inspiration from lost images (vintage Gay porn, old photos, archaic maps, discarded medical textbooks). Through alteration and fresh juxtaposition, these transformed images make the invisible visible, the forgotten remembered. 'To Take This Risk' is one Queer's response to life's 'crippling hurt' and restorative love. Grant strives to expose both the very real risks and infinitely more beautiful rewards of living (and loving) authentically.

'There is no intensity of love or feeling that does not involve the risk of crippling hurt. It is a duty to take this risk, to love and feel without defense or reserve.' (William S. Burroughs)

'To Take This Risk' is presented in conjunction with Gay City Arts, through which Gay City collaborates with local LGBT artists to galvanize an audience for Queer arts, foster the development of LGBT artists, and facilitate excellence across a wide range of disciplines, including theater, music, dance, fim, spoken word, literary and visual arts.

For more information, visit www.grantrehnberg.com.
