THANK YOU, MR. PRESIDENT
Words can't describe how much I and millions more thank you for standing firm against the blackmail being waged by the Tea Party. This country has for far too long allowed those who profess to know what is good for the country make decisions - which in fact are made to ensure they maintain a powerful grip on the politics and economics of the country. As a result, for decades the country's resources have been wasted supporting dictators overseas and getting involved in wars. while allowing our own citizens to suffer from neglect.

As an African American, I was appalled by a Fox News guest [Dr. Ben Carson] stating that the Affordable Care Act ('Obamacare') is the worst thing since slavery. I am 72 years old and believe me, there have been a lot of things that are much worse than taking steps to ensure every American has access to health care. The fact that a doctor could make such a statement shows just how out of touch he, and those who believe in what he stated, are with the history of this country as well as the ongoing suffering for millions who are affected by unemployment, gun violence, pit bulls killing people, auto accidents, dying for lack of proper health care, living on the street for lack of housing, mental illness going untreated, low wages, denial of basic human rights such as voting, etc.

I say, hang in there, Mr. President. It is time this country faced reality and lived up to the promising words set forth in the Constitution in regard to this country being governed for the welfare and happiness of all its citizens. Each day this country fails to treat all its citizens fairly is a tragedy for millions.
