Bigger than Facebook? Seattle-based app is taking social discovery to the next level

by Shaun Knittel - SGN Associate Editor

A new mobile social discovery app, Anomo, available both for the iPhone and Android, is teaching people how to engage in fun, quality social interactions in an easy, safe, and real way.

The Seattle-based app is backed by James Sun, the first Asian-American finalist on Donald Trumps The Apprentice and CEO of the newly national digital loyalty and deals platform Pirq. Orca Bay Capital, Lee Zehrer of Kiss.com, and Amit Mital of Microsoft are also backing Anomo, demonstrating the potential for this new app and what it means for the future of how people meet and socialize.

Already, within the first two months, the number of opens per day for the Anomo app and on the web has surpassed Facebooks opens, with 19.1 for Anomo versus 14.3 for Facebook.

Anomo is built on the understanding that who you meet drastically affects your life path. This new technology ensures that people meet those they need to, while making social interaction more efficient and entertaining. First impressions can now be based on quality digital social interactions rather than todays superficial impressions.

Users create an anomo, similar to an avatar, which allows them utmost privacy while first meeting someone digitally. They are then matched with four other users based on algorithms such as age, sex, location, and similar interests. A series of ice-breaker games allow users to determine their compatibility with four users at a time, as they simultaneously answer five questions per game. Each shake of the phone, revealing another four matches, initiates another game.

As users chat and become more comfortable with their matches, they are allowed to reveal more about themselves, such as an actual photo, name, profession, and more. An F badge next to the username means their age, sex, and interests have all already been verified by Facebook.

Once the users have both decided to meet, the chat feature allows for their first encounter, bringing this quality social interaction from the digital sphere to real life. Built on genuine conversations, matches from Anomo have been shown to break the ice quickly but build interactive relationships, whether they be romantic, a friendship, or for business networking.

More information about Anomo is available at www.anomo.com.
