On Friday, December 13, starting at 7 p.m., at 1927 Events (1927 3rd Ave.), dive into the holidays by bringing back the past at the 2013 Black Eyed Ball. Rat City Roller Girls will be in full-swing with their prohibition-themed fundraiser. Featuring live music, burlesque, and many wonderful items up for auction! Tickets: $50. Proceeds from this annual fundraiser support the Rat City Rollergirls training facility, travel, and uniforms. www.ratcityrollergirls.com.

'LUCKY FRIDAY DECEMBER 13 FUNDRAISING HOLIDAY CABARET' WITH NEW YORK BISTRO CABARET AWARD WINNER ARNALDO!
On Friday, December 13, doors at 6 p.m. for cocktails and dinner, showtime at 7:30 p.m., at Egan's Ballard Jam House (1707 NW Market St.) please join Victor Janusz and Arnaldo Inocentes to raise funds for the survivors of Haiyan/Yolanda in Arnaldo's home country the Philippines.

GAY CITY HEALTH PROJECT - AFFORDABLE CARE ACT/ OBAMACARE FORUM
On Saturday, December 14, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Calamus Auditorium at Gay City (517 E. Pike St.), Gay City Health Project invites you to learn about and sign up for Affordable Care Act health insurance coverage at this event. (See related article in this week's SGN for complete details.)

There is no need to pre-register for this event. It will be important to know your Social Security number and income information, though, if you want to sign up for insurance at this event. There will be in-person assisters to help you navigate the process there. This event is FREE. www.gaycity.org. 'HANDS ON: ONE NOTE AT A TIME' TYPHOON HAIYAN RELIEF CONCERT
On Sunday, December 15, at 4 p.m., at the Filipino Community Center (5740 Martin Luther King, Jr Way), join hosts Aleksa Manila and Karl Marx Reyes for an afternoon concert to benefit the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. Featured performers from Seattle's Opera, Theater, Drag and Burlesque communities include: Julia Benzinger, Sarah Fletcher, Gabriel Gargari, Elizabeth Giesbers, Kimberly Giordano, Brandon Higa, Dana Johnson, Neil Jordan, Atasha Manila, David McDade, Danny Oakden, Shanghai Pearl, Nickolai Pirak, Emily Reisser, Eleanor Stallcop-Horrox, Kelly Vomacka, James Walters. LGBTQ ALLYSHIP - 'JUST DESSERTS'
On Sunday, December 15, at 6 p.m., at Southeast Seattle Senior Center (4655 S. Holly St.), LGBTQ Allyship hosts their 2nd annual fundraising event where you can have des-sert and support LGBTQ social justice. Buy your tickets today and invest in programming that addresses economic disparity in the LGBTQ community - from youth to seniors - building community, leadership, and coalitions to fight for economic justice is just the icing on the cake!

This exciting event will feature artist, Julz Palad Iganacio, a rainbow spirit swimming along star routes to ancestral gateways. A storyteller since birth, Julz seeks to build bridges through a shared connection of love, spirit, compassion and resilience. Julz is committed to cultivating community and spaces alongside Bakla, Two-Spirited, Trans, Queer people of color in solidarity for healing and liberation. The lovely Roxana Pardo Gracia, community builder and social justice organizer, will be the fabulous master of ceremonies for Just Desserts. Roxana is currently the Community Organizer for Entre Hermanos. With music by Sophia Lael and Hester Hunk Angus, aka The Puffballs - playing jazz standards - Gayly!

'Just Desserts' will be an event highlighting gourmet desserts and other eateries from local restaurants and bakeries throughout Seattle to benefit Allyship's programming to end LGBTQ youth homelessness, support community-led initiatives that strengthen the diversity of LGBTQ families, build connections between LGBTQ seniors and youth and pro-mote advocacy solutions addressing disparities of both seniors and youth in the LGBTQ community. NORTHWEST NETWORK RESPONDS TO HATE & BIAS RELATED VIOLENCE
On Tuesday, December 17, from 6:30-8 p.m., at Queer Youth Space (911 E. Pike St.), the Northwest Network's Voices in Power (VIP) Program invites our communities to a conversation to discuss anti-LGBT hate and bias related violence.

This evening's program is titled 'Community Action: Hate Violence - Intersections: Race, Poverty, Urban Renewal/Gentrification.' This event will look at important intersec-tions when talking about hate violence, including issues of race, class, homelessness, and gentrification/urban renewal. www.nwnetwork.org.

SEATTLE GAY & LESBIAN BOOK CLUB - THE DEVIL IN LOVE
The Seattle Gay & Lesbian Book Club meets every Wednesday from 6-7:15 p.m., at Seattle Area Support Groups Community Center (303 17th Ave. E. at E. Thomas St.). In December, the club will discuss The Devil in Love, a new three-volume Gay fantasy like no other by Nick diMartino.

RADICAL WOMEN - 'UMM KULTHUM: A VOICE LIKE EGYPT'
On Thursday, December 19, at 7:30 p.m., at New Freeway Hall (5018 Rainier Ave. S.), Radical Women presents 'Umm Kulthum: A Voice Like Egypt,' an award-winning documentary on the life of the legendary female singer (c. 1904-1975) who became an inspirational symbol for the entire Arab world. The one hour film, released in 1996, also provides a glimpse into Egypt's revolt against British colonialism and the early years of the Nasser regime. Post-film commentary by Egyptian feminist and writer Jacinthe Ahmed Assaad. $2 door donaton; dinner with vegan option available at 6:30 p.m. for an $8.50 donation. 206-722-6057. Everyone welcome. QUARE ARTS PROJECT - 'BEARING WITNESS: A QUEER YOUTH OF COLOR PERFORMING ARTS SHOWCASE'
On Thursday, December 19, doors at 6:45 p.m., show at 7 p.m., at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute (104 17th Ave. S., at E. Yesler Way), join the Quare Arts Project for this FREE showcase, featuring performances by local Queer Youth of Color sharing their stories and exploring their art, creating space and opening a door for discussion and awareness in the community. LILY DIVINE PRODUCTIONS - 'DEBAUCHERY'
On Thursday, December 19, doors at 7 p.m., show at 8 p.m., at Neighbours Nightclub (1509 Broadway, entrance in alley between Broadway and Harvard Ave. off E. Pike St.), Lily Divine Productions presents 'Debauchery' 'for Queers of all genders' every third Thursday each month. 'Debauchery' is Queers stripping for Queers in a hot, anti-oppressive space, raising money for organizations that serve the Queer community.

Tickets are $10 in advance; $15 at the door. This month of December, admission is pay-what-you-can! ASL interpreters at every show. A portion of the proceeds goes to non-profits providing health and social services within the Queer community. www.lilydivine.com.

SEATTLE SEA DAWGS ICE HOCKEY TEAM
The Seattle Sea Dawgs is a new ice hockey team that is forming open to Gay, Bi, Lesbian, Transgender and straight ally adult players. The Sea Dawgs mission is to provide a re-laxed, friendly team environment for GLBTA hockey players to play hockey, socialize and support the greater GLBT community. The Sea Dawgs will play locally and organize for competitions in the U.S. and abroad. Interested players at all skill levels are encouraged to contact the Sea Dawgs for additional information or to express interest.
