RuPaul's Drag Race star Manila Luzon to interview with SGN

by Albert Rodriguez - SGN A&E Writer

When a yellow feathery Manila Luzon bested Delta Work in a televised lip-sync battle to Donna Summer's 'MacArthur Park,' it created a timeless moment that female impersonator aficionados still revisit for sheer delight. The Minnesota-born entertainer went on to place second in RuPaul's Drag Race - Season Three, then reappeared on the Logo TV network's All-Star competition, where she was knocked out in the third round. But the exposure undoubtedly made her a star on the national drag circuit, booked routinely for Pride festivities and themed cruise ship adventures across the country, and even in Canada.

Luzon is headed to Seattle, along with an ensemble of former contestants, when RuPaul's Drag Race 'Battle of the Seasons' sashays to the Moore Theatre on February 4. The show also includes Carmen Carrera, Sharon Needles, Alaska Thunderfuck, Pandora Boxx, Detox, Willam and Ivy Winters. Luzon will provide more details about the live event when she speaks with Seattle Gay News in our January 31 issue. For ticket information, go to www.stgpresents.org.
