And the 2013 winners are ... Congratulations, Gypsy winners!

The Seattle Theater Writers announced nominations for the 2013 Gypsy Rose Lee Awards a couple of weeks ago. The wait is over and the winners' list is below.

We hope that you will look at the list of nominees and/or winners and realize how much great theater is produced in this town. Maybe you'll decide to attend one more theatrical production this year than last (which means, if you have never gone, maybe it's time to give it a try!), and maybe try a theater you might not have been to or heard of until you saw them on these two lists.

A couple of years ago, American Theatre magazine declared that Seattle had more theater per capita than any other city in the United States! We may not have as many people here as in New York City, but we have more theater for the amount of people here! That's pretty amazing, considering NYC's synonymousness with theater. There is a kind of theatrical performance for everyone and anyone here.

So without further ado, the winners:

Excellence in Production of a Play

(Small Budget): Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them - Seattle Public Theater

Excellence in Production of a Musical
