Lionel Richie, Against Me!, Suzanne Vega headed to Seattle |

Is your music calendar filling up? Mine is, and here are more shows to add to it.
R&B/pop veteran Lionel Richie is trekking to Seattle for a May 30 performance with supporting act CeeLo Green. The former Commodores frontman continues to promote his 2012 album Tuskegee, a country-fried collection of songs from his vast catalog featuring duets with major Nashville artists, including 'Easy' with Willie Nelson, 'Sail On' with Tim McGraw, 'Endless Love' with Shania Twain, 'Say You, Say Me' with Jason Aldean and 'Hello' with Jennifer Nettles. Richie's 'All the Hits All Night Long ' tour, a greatest hits show that will likely span his long career, is slated for Key Arena. Tickets go on sale February 24 (10 a.m.) at all Ticketmaster outlets, at www.LiveNation.com, or by calling (800) 745-3000.
Against Me! will return to the Emerald City on March 25 to boost the group's newest release, Transgender Dysphoria Blues. This marks the first visit by the Florida rock band with lead singer Laura Jane Grace, formerly Tom Gabel, who interviewed with Seattle Gay News several years ago. In fact, it was Gabel (now Grace) who personally added me to Against Me!'s guest list for their Neumos performance when their record label had run out of tickets. I've seen them perform one other time, at the Capitol Hill Block Party, and was really impressed by both shows. They're scheduled to play the Neptune Theatre, a great intimate spot to see them at, with special guests Laura Stevenson and Cheap Girls. Tickets priced at $18 ($20 day of show) are on sale now at www.Tickets.com, the Paramount or Moore or Neptune theatre kiosks, or Sonic Boom Records in Ballard.
Grammy-winning artist Suzanne Vega has also interviewed with Seattle Gay News - twice, in fact - and is coming back to perform at The Triple Door on May 20. When the 'Luka' singer-songwriter kicked off last year's tour at Benaroya Hall, she introduced a few tracks from her now released album, Tales from the Realm of the Queen of Pentacles, including 'I Never Wear White.' Vega will undoubtedly pack her set list with a mix of songs, from 'Marlene on the Wall' to 'Tom's Diner' to 'Caramel.' Reservations can be made by going to www.thetripledoor.net.
Also coming to Seattle in the coming weeks/months, The Glitch Mob has added a second show on May 4 at The Showbox Market (first show on May 3 is sold out), jazz-pop singer Spencer Day plays Dimitriou's Jazz Alley on May 20 and 21, and Bruno Mars is at The Gorge Amphitheatre on August 9.
Finally, look for a review of the Paul Simon/Sting concert in next week's issue. The legendary artists appear together February 19 at Key Arena.
