Announcing Moisture Festival 2014: Moisture Festival is turning it up to 11

Expect unleashed revelry, extraordinary performances and special events

MOISTURE FESTIVAL 2014
HALE'S PALADIUM
BROADWAY PERFORMANCE HALL
TEATRO ZINZANNI
March 20-April 13

The Moisture Festival is turning it up to 11 - attracting an abundance of high quality and high-energy comedy/varietè acts, as well as continuing the festival's unique brand of burlesque shows curated this year by Armitage Shanks, world traveling burlesque Master of Ceremonies.

Moisture Festival's 11th year also features wonderful collaborations with Teatro ZinZanni and SANCA (School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts).

Varietè has its roots in the Music Halls of 19th-century England, cabaret in Europe and vaudeville in America. Because of the talented artists currently working in this genre, it is still fresh, exciting and tremendous fun for the audience.

Part of the mission of Moisture Festival is to bring world-class varietè entertainment to multiple Seattle neighborhoods at a reasonable ticket price. The festival originated in Fremont and that neighborhood's strong pulse continues to provide the creative heartbeat as the festival expands into another creative stronghold: Capitol Hill. This is our third year at Broadway Performance Hall. It will be our first year in Teatro ZinZanni's spiegeltent.

The varietè shows will run March 20 through April 13 at Hale's Palladium (4301 NW Leary Way) in Fremont. 7:30 p.m. shows and 3 p.m. matinees are all ages. Late night varietè shows at 10:30 p.m. are 18+. Tickets: $10-$25.

The burlesque shows run Fridays and Saturdays, March 28 through April 5, at 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. (with a special Boylesque 'Buckaroos USA' show on Thursday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m.) at Broadway Performance Hall (1625 Broadway at E. Pine St.) on Capitol Hill. All burlesque/boylesque shows are 18+. Tickets: $10-$25.

Broadway Performance Hall will be also host two Sunday all ages varietè show matinees March 30 and April 6 at 3 p.m. (April 6 is a benefit for SANCA.) Tickets: $10-$25.

On April 1, April Fool's Day, Moisture Festival collaborates with Teatro ZinZanni in their gorgeous spiegeltent (222 Mercer St. across from Seattle Center). The MishMash Circus Bash celebrates the explosion of variety performance in Seattle and the desire of these two organizations, Teatro ZinZanni and Moisture Festival, to throw a party together. One night only! Tickets: $30-$160 (single tickets to private tables for four).

On April 11, 12 and 13, a very unique event takes place at Broadway Performance Hall. In collaboration with SANCA, Moisture Festival presents IMPulse Circus Collective, a fantastic modern take on variety performance. The talent and creative work involved in putting the show together is the result of students, turned circus artists trained at SANCA. The successful mixture of stunning talents and humorous presentation is a real achievement - great for all ages. Showtimes: Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets: $10-$25.

TBA - Moisture Festival workshops including Dr. Patch Adams and magician John Carney and other special events will be announced as they are scheduled.
