Pride Parade announcers selected!

Seattle Out & Proud, the non-profit organization that produces the Seattle Pride Parade is reporting that registration for the parade is open and filling fast for the 2014 Seattle Pride Parade, which will be held on Sunday, June 29, starting at 11:00 a.m. on 4th Avenue in downtown Seattle. To register your organization to march in the Parade, simply visit www.seattlepride.org, then select 'Parade Registration' from the menu options. Registration will close on May 1st.? The theme for the 40th anniversary of Seattle Pride is, 'Generations of Pride.' With 2014 Pride, Seattle Out & Proud aims to celebrate the history of the Northwest's LGBT rights movement and advance the ongoing progress the LGBT community has made since first coming out in 1974, the year of the first Seattle Pride celebration.

In previous years, more than 200 marching contingents, representing commercial, civic and non-profit organizations from throughout the region, have participated in the march along 4th Avenue.

Seattle Out & Proud has announced that Sylvia O'Stayformore and Mama Tits will host the main stage at Westlake Park. The pair hosted the Pride Parade for the last four years at the 4th and Bell stage, and Mama Tits was one of the hosts of the 2010 PrideFest Main Stage at Seattle Center. Known as Seattle's Skyscraper Hostess, Mama Tits is the producer and star of 'Mimosas with Mama,' Seattle's longest-running weekly Drag Brunch, and works various events around the area and across the country.

Sylvia O'Stayformore will join Mama Tits at Westlake Park's Main Stage. Sylvia has been performing in drag in Seattle since 1997. She has performed across the Northwest and was named the Hottest Drag Queen in America of the Moment by Out Magazine in 2003. Sylvia produces 'Bacon Strip Seattle,' a monthly theater show, and is the hostess of Rainbow Bingo at senior centers in West Seattle, Ballard and Columbia City, as well as hosting a brunch show at different locations of the south end.

Sarah Rudinoff and Cherry Sur BĂȘte will greet the parade around the far turn at 4th and Bell. Cherry Sur BĂȘte is a performance artist and a conceptual artist with a fetish for drag. She is a founding member of the Haus of LadyDude, an artists collective aiming for uncompromising artistic self-expression and commitment to community. She works as a sales manager and makeup artist for Dr. Jen's House of Beauty, a local skincare and cosmetics retailer.

Cherry will be joined by performer Sarah Rudinoff, a recipient of the Stranger Genius Award in theater and an actress and cabaret singer. Rudinoff performs in the band We Are Golden, and will premier her solo show, 'Is This Real Life?' at the On the Boards' Northwest New Works Festival in June. Rudinoff was included in the book Seattle 100 and the PBS 'Special Portrait of a City,' chronicling Seattleites who drive local culture.

As the parade rolls into the homestretch, The Seattle Lesbian will host the 4th and Denny Stage. The Seattle Lesbian is a daily online news magazine with readers across the world. The online magazine is Seattle's only Lesbian-fronted news outlet. It breaks news across local, national and international fronts, and highlights issues that face the LGBTQ community at large. The online magazine has more than 180,000 readers weekly.

Seattle Pride is a non-profit organization based in Seattle, WA focused on informing and educating the community on LGBT issues through community outreach and produced events, including the Seattle Pride Picnic, the Seattle Pride Brunch, and the annual Seattle Pride Parade.
