RIP THE RUNWAY
FASHION SHOW
NEIGHBOURS NIGHTCLUB
July 20

Miss La Femme Magnifique Washington 2014 Diamond St. James is scheduled to compete in the mother of all Pacific Northwest Drag Pageants - La Femme Magnifique International - in Portland, Oregon Labor Day weekend at the Oregon Convention Center. The contestants are considered the best in their craft and if lucky enough to be crowned winner, join the elite group of queens known as the 'Most Beautiful and Glamorous Female Impersonators in the World.'

Well, as one could imagine, it takes money to build the costuming that can help a girl win such a thing. So it is customary for contestants to throw a fundraiser or two to help get them - and their team - down to Portland and back (hopefully with the crown and sash in tow). In keeping with tradition, Diamond St. James presents Rip the Runway Fashion Show, July 20 from 6-10 p.m. at Neighbours Nightclub (1509 Broadway).

The drag/fashion show will be hosted by the legendary Ebony LaFace.

According to Diamond St. James, performers such as Iyona Black and Aleksa Manila (and a slew of others) are scheduled to strut their stuff on the runway and lip-sync their way to your donations - all in the spirit of helping Diamond St. James achieve a monumental win for drag in Washington state.

Past winners have hailed from Portland, Tacoma, Denver, Los Angeles, Honolulu, Seattle, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, and contestants have competed from as far south as Mexico City and north to Vancouver, British Columbia. Oregon leads with 17 international winners and Hawaii second with 11, Washington has 8 international winners, who include Coco Vaughn 1986, Gaysha Starr 1994, LaVanda Dela Rosa 1996, Lily Armani 2010, Lady Chablis 2011, Athena Kiss (Plus) 2011, Amora Dior Black 2013, and LaTrina Bidet (Plus) 2013.

On Sunday, tickets will be available at the door for $15, which includes the show and a food buffet. Rip the Runway Fashion Show is a 21+ event.
