Margaret Cho bringing 'psyCHO tour' to Seattle, will marry couples on stage

MARGARET CHO
'PSYCHO TOUR'
MOORE THEATRE
October 24

Things are about to get crazy in October. Insane, really. Completely nuts. So, prepare yourself because direct from the looney bin, here comes Margaret Cho! The multi-talented entertainer is coming to Seattle on October 24, as part of 'The psyCHO Tour' that is set to launch at the start of next month. The transatlantic outing includes stops in Cleveland, Washington DC, San Francisco, Tucson, Miami Beach, Kahului, Los Angeles, Berlin, Antwerp, Warsaw, and Amsterdam, to name a few.

'This show is about insanity, and about the anger I feel about everything happening in the world right now, from police brutality to racism to the rising tide of violence against women. It makes me all so crazy - hence the title: 'The psyCHO Tour' - there is no 'I' in team but there is a 'CHO' in psycho,' explains the three-time Grammy and Emmy nominee in a press release.

Her performances will touch on various topics, from Boko Horam to Caitlyn Jenner to female empowerment, but don't be surprised if Cho also includes segments on Donald Trump, Carly Fiorina, or Kim Davis, as her stand-up acts usually incorporate current and relevant newsmakers. The concert, too, will pay homage to the comedienne-actress' show biz father and mother, Robin Williams and Joan Rivers, respectively, both of whom she knew personally. Her friendship with Williams encouraged Cho to launch the #BeRobin campaign that raises money and awareness for the homeless, while her friendship with Rivers inspires her to this day to be fearless.

Unique to the show will be the opportunity for couples to get married on stage with Cho officiating the ceremony. She is licensed, so those tying the knot will be legally wed. Here are instructions for anyone considering this rare opportunity: Qualified participants must submit a homemade video between 0:15-0:30 seconds prior to the closing date for the show in their respective city (October 24 for Seattle). You must be present in the city in which you want to be married and be present on show date. The homemade video must answer the question: 'Why I want you to #MarryMeMargaret.' Each video (hereinafter 'Submission' or 'Entry') must be uploaded to one of the Cho sites and comply with the terms of conditions of the relevant site that the Entry is uploaded to. Each Entry must use the hashtag #MarryMeMargaret and participant must tag their partner in the Entry and @MargaretCho in each Submission. Each Entry may NOT be profane, offensive, pornographic, defamatory or inappropriate as determined by the sponsor. #MarryMeMargaret contest rules are here: http://margaretcho.com/stand-up/marrymemargaret-contest-rules/

Prior to 'The psyCHO Tour' launch, the Bay Area-based performer will make several TV appearances, including 'Watch What Happens' with Andy Cohen on September 21, 'The Today Show' on September 22, 'The Real' on September 30, and she will premiere her brand new comedy special 'psycho' on September 25 on 'Showtime.'

Cho will also be speaking with Seattle Gay News before her Moore Theatre appearance. Look for the interview in mid-October. Tickets for the 'The PsyCHO Tour' are available at Tickets.com, or at the Paramount Theatre box office, or kiosks outside the Paramount and Moore theatres.
