SEATTLE WOMEN'S CHORUS
'HALLOWS IN THE CATHEDRAL:
SPIRIT RISING'
ST. MARK'S CATHEDRAL
October 23 & 24,
October 30 & 31

Seattle Women's Chorus returns to Saint Mark's Cathedral this October for their annual All Hallows Eve concerts. This is Seattle Women's Chorus' fourth consecutive year performing inside the historic Saint Mark's Cathedral in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood as Dennis Coleman begins his final season as artistic director for Seattle Women's Chorus. Together Coleman and Seattle Women's Chorus will take audiences on a spooky, spectacular musical journey that includes ethereal harmonies and enchanting melodies. With 'Hallows in the Cathedral: Spirits Rising' the women stir the soul with Schubert and Rossini and raise the spirit with musical theatre tunes from Into the Woods, Beauty and the Beast and Cats.

Special guest star Rebekah Del Rio joins the women for the first weekend of performances (Oct 23 and 24 only). This talented singer/songwriter is well-known for a unique style that is best represented in her signature song, the wrenchingly beautiful ballad 'Llorando.' Her Spanish-language version of Roy Orbison's classic 'Crying' was featured in David Lynch's award-winning film Mulholland Drive.

On Halloween costumes are encouraged at both the matinee and evening performances. SWC hosts a special Family Performance at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 31; call to reserve discounted $15 tickets for children age 12 and under and join in the costume parade!

Seattle performances will be held on Fridays and Saturdays, October 23 & 24 and October 30 & 31 at Saint Mark's Cathedral (1245 10th Ave. E.) at 8 p.m. (with a special matinee performance on Saturday, October 31 at 2 p.m.) Tickets to Seattle performances are $25-$45 and available at SeattleWomensChorus.org or via the Flying House box office at (206) 388-1400. The Seattle area box office is open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

The Renton preview concert will be held on Saturday, October 10 at 7 p.m. at the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center (400 S. Second St., Renton). Preview tickets are $10 each and can be purchased in advance by calling the Flying House box office at 206-388-1400 (Mon.-Fri., 11 a.m.-6 p.m.) and at the door on the day of the preview concert.

About the Seattle Men's Chorus/Seattle Women's Chorus
The internationally renowned Seattle Men's Chorus (founded 1979) and Seattle Women's Chorus (founded 2002) comprise the largest community chorus organization in North America. Both choruses stand out as the largest LGBT-identified men's and women's choruses in the world. Flying House Productions, the home of SMC and SWC, is among the Pacific Northwest's largest, most vibrant and successful music organizations, with an annual audience of more than 30,000 patrons in Seattle's most prestigious venues.

Each Chorus currently has a small ensemble of 9 to 11 members (Captain Smartypants and Sensible Shoes), which furthers the FHP mission by performing throughout the Pacific Northwest. In addition to the 600+ singing members, Flying House Productions has a base of over 50 volunteers and associate members who support both Choruses. A leading voice for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community, FHP offers 30 outreach events and 20 main stage concert performances annually. Concerts, often including nationally-known guest artists along with our region's professional talents, receive critical acclaim for their combination of high musical quality, wit, and celebration of people of all sexual orientations and identities. FHP cannot be considered simply a local arts organization; thousands more experience each Chorus at other performances throughout Washington and the world each year.

Our Mission
is to entertain, enlighten, unify and heal our audience and members, using the power of words and music to recognize the value of Gay and straight people and their relationships.

Our Vision:
A world that accepts and values its Gay and Lesbian citizens.
