Seattle City Council bans conversion therapy

Unanimous vote on August 1

The Seattle City Council voted unanimously on August 1 to ban conversion therapy for minors.

The new law creates civil penalties for practicing conversion therapy within the Seattle city limits: a $500 fine for the first offense and $1,000 for every subsequent violation.
