50 years of the Fair Housing Act: Attorney General Bob Ferguson speaks at the Seattle Public Library May 15

The Seattle Public Library will co-host a discussion with Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson on the successes, challenges and future of the Fair Housing Act (FHA) from 1pm to 2pm on Tuesday, May 15 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, (206) 386-4636.

Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required.

The Fair Housing Act of 1968 promised to deliver equal opportunity and an end to discriminatory housing practices. Join Ferguson for a conversation on the successes and challenges of the FHA in the 50 years since its passage, as well as what's next here in Washington. You'll hear from him about the FHA's work, how our state's new source of income discrimination protections can be implemented, and more during this lunchtime interview with Emily Alvarado, manager of policy and equitable development in the City of Seattle Office of Housing. The interview will include a Q&A.

Ferguson is Washington state's 18th attorney general. He made national headlines this year for his office's work uncovering housing discrimination against veterans.

This program is presented in partnership with the Housing Development Consortium Seattle-King County and the City of Seattle Office of Housing.

For more information, call Seattle Public Library at (206) 386-4636 or visit https://www.spl.org/. For ADA accommodations, please contact: leap@spl.org.
