2018 Men in Dance Festival presented Sept. 28-30 & Oct. 5-7

Against the Grain/MEN IN DANCE presents the 2018 Men in Dance Festival, a two-weekend showcase of contemporary dance choreographed for and danced by men. Performances will be held at the Broadway Performance Hall (1625 Broadway) on September 28-30 and October 5-7. Showtimes are Fri-Sat at 7:30pm and Sunday at 5pm.

Artists appearing include the exciting Versa-Style Company from LA bringing a new group urban/Latin fusion piece, their first appearance on a Seattle stage! Arizona's Autumn Eckman will premiere a new solo that features former Hubbard Street Dancer Benjamin Wardell. And the 2017 'Showcase Favorite' Cameron McKinney will return to Seattle from NYC, with a beautifully executed piece. Two local companies are being represented in Donald Byrd's Spectrum Dance Theatre, and Marie Chong's ARC Dance. Other Seattle contributors include Seattle's excellent youth company, Kaleidoscope, plus Sam Picart, and MID veterans Gerard Theoret and Deborah Wolf.

Against the Grain/MEN IN DANCE has announced that Virginia choreographer Tiffanie Carson originally scheduled for Weekend 1 has been replaced by Seattle choreographer and dancer Daniel Costa. Daniel will be performing an exciting new solo, as Tiffanie had to withdraw due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts. Daniel is also performing with Bay Area Choreographer Alex Ketley, who is in Seattle and currently rehearsing a quartet of local men in a new piece commissioned for this festival. This new work will premiere on Opening Night, September 28!
