Intiman Theatre raises $130,000 in one month, adds five new members to the board, announces 'Look to the Future' strategic planning process for 2020

SEATTLE (November 6, 2019) - The board and staff of Intiman Theatre are pleased to announce that the theatre has raised $130,000 in one month, including $60,000 at their annual brunch gala on November 2. These donations count toward the October 3 announced Q4 goal of $200,000, leaving $70,000 remaining to raise through end of year. The $200,000 goal will see Intiman enter 2020 with over $150,000 cash on hand. The theatre extends a heartfelt thank-you to the entire community for all the words of support, financial pledges, and donations, and to those who joined us in person at the Most Fabulous Brunch Gala Ever this past weekend.

The theatre is also pleased to share that five new trustees have joined the board of directors in October. They are Sameer Arshad, Regina Bellody, Elizabeth Coplan, Lauren Dudley, and Pinky Estell. Together, they are joined by current board members Dan Nye (president), Katie Loberstein, and Wacarra Yeomans. Additional trustees will be added to the board in the coming months, with support provided by Scandiuzzi Krebs, [which is] currently serving as interim management for the company. The board and staff extend their thanks to all the community members who have served on the board, especially those who worked since 2012 to lead the company to its current debt-free status.

Intiman Theatre announced a strategic planning process at the gala called 'Look to the Future,' which will plot out a plan to bring the company forward serving Seattle, not just for another production but for another 50 years. It will begin in 2020 and will include town halls, public forums, happy hour events, and roundtables, with an invitation extended to the community members, audiences, past board members, donors, and anyone that has come into contact with Intiman over its 47 year history to join us as we dream about the future. The process will include plans to answer the space needs for the theatre - arts space is under attack throughout the city, and Intiman envisions being part of the solution to preserving or creating cultural gathering space.

Additional programming for 2020 will include Intiman's free education programs, STARFISH Project, and Intiman's Emerging Artist Program, as well as two exciting partner productions with details to come in early 2020.

Anyone interested in joining us as we 'Look to the Future' is invited to register on the Intiman website at intiman.org. More details on the process will be shared soon.
