Kentucky: Gov. Andy Beshear vetoes Trans girls sports ban
The Associated Press reported April 7 that Kentucky's Democratic governor vetoed a GOP-backed bill that would bar Transgender girls and women from taking part in school sports matching their gender identity from middle school through college. Under the bill, a student's gender would be determined by the "biological sex" indicated on the student's birth certificate as issued at the time of birth.?

Upon issuing the veto,Beshear said its backers had failed to present a "single instance" of an athlete gaining a competitive advantage because of a "sex reassignment." He also said in his veto message that the measure "most likely" violates the US Constitution's equal protection rights.

Oregon: Game designer raises $400K for Trans rights
NBC News reported on April 2 that Trans game designer Rue Dickey of Oregon has helped raise over $400,000 for Trans rights in Texas, after officials in the state had begun to investigate the parents of Trans children for what Gov. Greg Abbott called "child abuse."

Dickey (he/they) put together a bundle of tabletop role-playing games on indie game website Itch.io. The site regularly sells games in discounted bundles to fundraise for social justice and humanitarian relief. Dickey's bundle included 493 games from 300 designers, valued at more than $2,700, but available for $5 until April 3.

The fundraising goal was just $1,000 but reached $11,000 by the next day, concluding at $406,476. The money is going to two small Trans advocate groups in Texas, the Transgender Education Network of Texas and the Organización Latina de Trans en Texas.
