US: Kal Penn comes out
Today reported on October 31 that actor and former White House staff member Kal Penn has come out with his engagement to Josh, his partner of 11 years. Penn discusses his relationship in his upcoming book You Can't Be Serious, but he made the news public in advance in an interview with People. Penn described his family's reaction to his coming out as supportive: "When you've already told your Indian parents and the South Asian community that you intend to be an actor for a living, really any conversations that come after that are super easy. They're just like, 'Yeah, okay.'"
